11-03-2013 - Leeuwarden, 11 March 2013
Althuisius Opslag, part of the Kooiker Groep Grou, has expanded and has also upgraded its storage facilities in Leeuwarden. This expansion means approximately 10,000m2 of food-safe warehouse surface has been added. Most of the extension was taken into use at the end of 2012. This new high-quality warehouse is suitable for the food-safe storage and handling of products.
Continuous safety, inspection, registration and monitoring in a food environment are obviously vital. This is why our offices were moved to the new building. This provides maximum insight into incoming and outgoing flows and also into internal processes. It means we can offer maximum quality assurance. The utilisation rate of the warehouse section that was taken into use first has already reached maximum levels.
The BRC standard was applied from the word 'go', with the aim of achieving certification as soon as possible. On 7 March 2013, we successfully completed the BRC audit conducted by the KIWA.
We are extremely proud of the fact that we now hold the BRC Storage & Distribution certificate.
By obtaining this certificate so quickly, Althuisius Opslag proves to be a worthy provider of food storage and handling services. Products can be traced via a highly complex warehouse management system.
At Althuisius Opslag, your products are in safe hands and quality is guaranteed.
We expect to be able to start using another new section soon, under a similar regime of care, attention and management. Following new market demand for capacity, Althuisius Opslag is already looking to further expand its storage capacity.
